Faith and your next move
In the mist of religious expressions of Spring, I had the most bizarre and somehow telling dream. Surreal, it almost felt like the mystics were taking my current day family, back to a time when attempting to raise my children in a community which embraced values such as doing the right thing, Tzedakah, and realization that the messianic era was in side of all of us. Quite the antithesis from the comfort I expected, we found ourselves at a service which resembled a Cirque type -theater production including water slides for amusement – the premise was that in this day and age you have to be interactive, and literally BIGGER to attract and keep intact – the ‘temple’. I grabbed Michael’s hand to escape this false pretense. It wasn’t that joyful and safe place Sam used to fall asleep under the pews , it changed into a false extravaganza, void of the essence of those values and vision, that I hold dear. As we hurried up the stone circular stair to escape, I was face to face with my old spiritual leader, Joel. Heart felt we locked eyes and paused, “I miss you” were the words in the dream, but the meaning… so truly beyond.
What I missed, was the personal sacred place, in my heart in relationship to belief. We live in a world with so many religious expressions, so many grasping at meaning, seeking to resonate with truth, love, connectedness… living a mindful life.
I have always been spiritual, having my own personal relationship with God, and spent decades trying on for size a community to belong. This dream, still so vivid from over a week ago sheds light on the essence of my wrestling, and clarity, bringing me closer to my authentic self.
My dream was a call to action, to reclaim my balance.
A call to action, to Faith. To listen to that still clear voice inside, to not just do the right thing because you were taught to, but to do so mindfully. As wholesome and fragile as an Apple Pie, the more slices to appease the “should-isms’, the less crust to keep the integrity of the individual slice. Being present, and dividing your time into slices, with intention based on your truth – rather than doing so solely because it is the way it’s supposed to be, is a wholesome, healthy game changer.
What do you allow to have power over you? Does your belief wax and wane? How do you silence the voice calling you to veer away from your authentic self – the one which is most in harmony when filled with glee, love, success, and kindness.
Sometimes situations or people turn the earth beneath us, into a steep, graveled path – our foothold uncertain. How do we find the motivation to navigate and restore equilibrium and go beyond to soar to new heights? Some say history and out comes; Some high on confidence that they will persevere; I say all – are examples of faith.
Whatever nomenclature you choose, what is that magical switch that moves us from fear to fortitude?
On your next move, choose success – and have Faith.
